I am Dan Bell. I am 81. My wife and l live in eastern North Carolina. 

After I got the idea for the original website, I asked Google what kind of websites were out there for the 17.5 million men 70 and over: Nothing but a full page of dating sites.

But women 70 and over, looking to hook up with their peers, can read and write about what's interesting in their lives by visiting websites such as 70Candles.com, Womenover70.com, and Lifeinmy70’s.com. 

We need the same opportunity as women to avoid loneliness, make a social connections, and rekindle our spirits. 

I learned two things of importance during the last six months working on this website. I learned that 70 means little and that the website should include all senior men. I also learned that the website should include images of all creative activity, along with writings in every form on any topic.

This website  belongs to all Olde Goats. It belongs to the happy Olde Goats who enjoy good health and to the Olde Goats who suffer from chronic loneliness because their lives were derailed by misfortune or illness. Medical research shows that they can reduce or eliminate their loneliness and feel better physically and mentally by getting involved in person or online with others.

Of course, this website needs visitors to be complete. Come check out your peer’s creations and encourage your friend and family to stop by.

As seniors, we have learned a lot from our unique life experiences. We have climbed the mountain of life a decade at a time and reached the pinnacle. Now we start doing the bucket list. Somberly reminded by the deaths of friends and family members our age, now we treasure each day and our quality of life.
